Run 1 – A tough start

Well, here it goes.  I have the new running shoes, I have the armband for my iPhone and I have no excuses!  Time for a run!  My plan as outlined before was to start off gradually with some run/walk around Prospect Park.  I started off great and remember thinking after the 1/2 mile mark how great running was and how I should have started earlier!  At the one mile mark I had my hands on my knees gasping for breath! Realizing that I had bitten off more than I could chew I decide to retrace me steps and head back to the apartment.  A combination of run/walk (more walk than run!) had me back at the apartment 25 minutes after setting off having covered 2.04 miles.  This was a fairly inasupicious start to the training regimen but I least I had started….
