Run 15 – Standard

After a slightly unexpected rest day due inclement weather, I set out for another run tonight.  The plan was for a standard 5k run at a steady pace which I managed to achieve with minimum fuss.  I am still sticking to my initial plan of building my base with standard runs until June, however I do feel ready for a change of pace.  My fitness is definitely improving and I feel able to run decent distances at the pace I ran tonight. My plan is to increase my standard short run to 4 or 4.5 miles to try and keep myself from plateauing.  I am eager to improver speed and stamina and although I am naturally an impatient person I do understand that I have to let my body adjust to its new stresses after years of neglect!
